The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Book Review!! Yah!Place holders! sentences in disguise!
I’m going to review The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins this week. It takes place in the future, when North America is no longer know as North America and one country, Panem, covers the area. It is made up by 12 poor districts that are small. The people make their own clothes and have no cars. The Capitol controls all the districts and has people who are rich and well fed. They have control of everything and make all the rules even though the people in the districts never go there, unless they are in the Hunger Games. Every year, one boy and one girl are randomly chosen to participate in the Hunger Games, a fight to the death that is broadcasted on TV. To lose means you die, to win means special treatment for your whole district until the next games. Katniss Everdeen replaces her younger sister to participate (as in the picture). I liked that this book always had twists in it that kept you wanting to read more. The Capitol decides to let in a new rule partway through the game only to take it back at the end. I also thought it was cool to see how the contenders were encouraged to please the audience ( mostly from the capitol) by faking things like love. I also liked that the book rid you of almost all doubt that there would be a sequel by ending with, The end of book one.The book ended solidly though, not forcing you to read the next one. I can’t wait for the next book.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked that there will be a sequel but reading it isn’t necessary. The book had twists and showed the game from the point of the contenders. This book was really good.
