This week: book Review!!! Yay!!Just another placeholder !!!!

This week I’m going to review the book My Most Excellent Year by Steve Kluger. This is a book about three high schoolers, Anthony (T.C.), Augie, and Alejandra (Alé). The book is made up of school projects from the ninth and eleventh grades.  I really liked this book and think it was very well written.

The book starts out with the three kids describing their family in eleventh grade, school diaries from ninth grade, and ends with a conclusion from the eleventh graders.

I think it was well written because the kids in this book sound like kids, and different kids. Their diaries each sound different, with different references. I think that it was very cool that the author could write each voice differently. I also liked how you would hear a story from one person and hear a different side to the same story from another one. When Augie was describing his “brother”, T.C., he told a story of how he had worn his shirt backwards one day everyone else copied him but he pretended not to notice. When T.C. tells the story he says that after he wore his shirt backwards everyone else started to, he thought they were mocking him, he pretended not to notice and waited to cry when he got home. I think the different points of view make the book more interesting.

I thought this book was good because it used different points of view and each kid had a different voice. The kids in this story sound like the kids they are and you can see how they all think differently. I liked the book My Most Excellent Year by Steve Kluger.
